By accessing or using WxSignal ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. We may update these Terms at any time; continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
2. Description of Service
WxSignal is a weather intelligence platform that aggregates and presents publicly available data from the National Weather Service (NWS), NOAA, and other sources, enhanced with AI-generated summaries. The Service is intended for informational and educational purposes for weather enthusiasts, storm spotters, and emergency preparedness use.
WxSignal is NOT a substitute for official NWS warnings, emergency management guidance, or professional meteorological services. Always follow instructions from local emergency management authorities.
3. Accounts and Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use this Service. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and all activity under it. We use Supabase for authentication; we never store passwords.
4. Subscriptions and Billing
WxSignal offers a free tier and paid Pro subscriptions billed monthly or annually via Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
- You may cancel at any time; access continues through the end of the paid period.
- Refunds are handled case-by-case; contact us within 7 days of a charge if you believe an error occurred.
- We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to active subscribers.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Scrape, crawl, or systematically harvest data from the Service.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, disassemble, or decompile any part of the Service.
- Use the Service to redistribute weather data in a way that violates upstream API terms.
- Create accounts through automated means or under false pretenses.
- Interfere with the Service's infrastructure, security, or other users' access.
6. Weather Data Accuracy and Disclaimer
Weather data is sourced from NOAA/NWS (public domain under 17 USC 105) and Open-Meteo. AI-generated summaries and translations are provided for convenience only and may contain errors. WxSignal makes no warranties regarding the accuracy, timeliness, or completeness of any weather data or AI-generated content.
WxSignal is not affiliated with NOAA or the National Weather Service.
7. Intellectual Property
The WxSignal name, logo, and original content (excluding NOAA/NWS data) are owned by WxSignal. NOAA/NWS data is US government public domain. AI-generated summaries derived from public domain data are owned by WxSignal. You may not reproduce the WxSignal brand or product without written permission.
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from the dashboard settings. Upon termination, your saved data is deleted within 30 days.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, WxSignal and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including any reliance on weather data or AI summaries for safety-critical decisions.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Kansas, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Johnson County, Kansas.
